As a child, I was never good at being a bench warmer. I was the one with my hand up yelling, “pick me.” Even if I knew I was not qualified, I secretly thought that the Lord would just put that talent in me, and I would hit a homerun. And guess what, sometimes He did! When I look back at my life, it is amazing all the wonderful things I have done just because I wasn’t afraid to jump in and work hard.
So today, this pick me girl is standing up and introducing herself to you. Here I am, Rabun Martin, look at me! I am a Jesus lover! One man, Ashley Martin lover! Mother of a bunch of fantastic kids and some amazing spares. Small {but big to me} shop owner! Dancer, not good but did peak in high school, so great in my mind! Painter, I never really think of myself as an artist so as a finger painter I should just embellish it with a # and call myself a #southernartist, it makes me sound bougie and I kinda like it! Runner, let’s be honest, I was a jogger, now at 50 I am a walker and only sometimes run to the bathroom, so yes, I am a runner! Hard worker, I am not lazy, and I am not afraid to get my hands dirty! Foodie, I love to eat and my family loves to cook! Doer, I love to create, to tinker, to make things that bring joy! Friend, I love my people! Now that you have met me, I hope that one day you will come to my shop and introduce yourself. I would love to meet you and share my space with you and hopefully inspire you to raise your hand or your paint brush and get off that bench, because you only got one life and you better start living!
